O Reilly Vineyard Wedding Crush

Is it possible to have a couple crush? Because we have on on Amanda and Luke. Are these guys adorable or what! You can’t help but smile when taking in these sweet-as-pie wedding photos by Queensland photographer Julian Beattie.

Married at Oreilly Vineyard in the Gold Coast Hinterland, Amanda tells us “The most important thing to Luke and I when it came to our wedding was to basically throw a kick-arse party that everyone would have a super time at. Neither of us a really fancy, fussy people so we wanted to keep it pretty basic, and as relaxed as possible. Being a wedding photographer myself, I’ve seen so many different weddings! It actually made it difficult in the beginning to plan mine, but we both knew we wanted something sweet but ‘non-wedding-y’”.

With this sweet low key affair in mind Amanda and Luke set about doing all of the decorating themselves, Amanda says “My mum went crazy making bunting for the reception and cushion covers for the picnic benches, as well as hessian table runners, which just looked amazing!”

Amanda and her bridesmaids sourced all of the flowers from The Brisbane Flower Market and set about arranging bouquets and vases themselves and bridesmaid Jade got down and dirty with some DIY and made that awesome “Amanda & Luke” sign that played a staring roll in the ceremony.

To add a bit of colour to the barn where they held the reception the girls attempted to make lots and lots of paper cranes and strung them from the ceiling, but were later put to shame by Amanda’s sisters friend…. Amanda tells us “we had what was affectionately known as ‘Mandy’s wedding sweatshop’ leading up to the wedding in which I had some of my friends and my mother’s friends over to the house and made them all make mountains of paper cranes. We didn’t do too badly – and then one day, completely unrequested, my sister’s friend Shima (who is Japanese) turned up on my mother’s doorstep having made hundreds and hundreds of paper cranes. By herself. For the wedding. It was incredible. So much love!”

Julian, master of never missing a moment captured some great frames of, well the whole day, but we especially love the shots of Luke getting ready wit his groomsmen, just before seeing his bride for the first time. Amanda lets slip “Luke couldn’t get his bow tie done up on the day and so 4 grown men were all trying to figure out how to tie the bloody thing before the ceremony… until they gave up and safety-pinned it in place!”

Amanda finishes off with “all in all the day was fantastic. Exactly what we wanted – no stress, no fuss, just fun, full of love, and happiness!” Emotions which were captured expertly by Julian and the fine folk of Fisheye Studio, both of whom Amanda says she can not recommend highly enough.  Article courtesy of www.hellomay.com.au
